Dr. Andrea Csok

When Dr. Csok first became a mother, she didn’t anticipate the difficulties and frustration that come along with a lip or tongue-tie. Desperately reaching out to lactation consultants led nowhere. Despite her son’s difficulty latching and the tremendous amount of pain she felt when nursing, she pushed through. It wasn’t until a couple of years later when her daughter was also born with a lip-tie that Dr. Csok received answers.

Her experience with her own children inspired Dr. Csok to complete Dr. Baxter’s Tongue-Tie Academy course, gaining extensive knowledge of the condition. She later attended the International Affiliation of Tongue-Tie Professionals annual conference to learn more and meet providers who dealt with tethered oral tissue. This unforgettable experience encouraged Dr. Csok to establish her own network of providers to help her patients get the help they needed to thrive.

When she isn’t busy treating patients at her practice near Beachwood, Dr. Csok is spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. Together, they love camping, hiking, and traveling. Dr. Csok and her team are looking forward to meeting and getting to know you!

If your child has been struggling to breathe, eat, sleep, or speak, it could be due to the tongue, lips, or other facial structures not moving as they should. At Cleveland Tongue-Tie Center, we offer orofacial myology treatment to address improper development, speech distortions, and long-term mouth breathing. Orofacial Myology Therapy is individualized for each patient to address their unique concerns. The goal is to focus on eliminating bad oral habits and correcting muscle imbalances to allow your child to breathe, use their mouth, and sleep without difficulty.

Lip & Tongue-Tie Treatment

A tongue tie occurs when a short, tight band of tissue tethers the tongue to the floor of the mouth. Lip-ties are when the tissue connecting the lip and gums is too tight. Both can result in breastfeeding difficulties, reduced mobility of the lip/tongue, and speech impairment. At Cleveland Tongue-Tie Center – we offer laser frenectomies to loosen the band of tissue for greater oral function. Laser frenectomies use a concentrated beam of light to target the excess tissue. This procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and doesn’t usually require sedation. Because the laser cauterizes the tissue as it goes, there is little to no bleeding and a lower risk of infection.
